Albert  Runquist, 1894-1971

After studying at the Arts Students League in New York City he exhibited at the New York World’s fair in 1939 as well as in San Francisco the same year.  Active in the WPA, he painted murals for the post office in Sedro Wooley Washington, taught at the Museum Art School , worked in the ship yards in Portland during WWII, focused mainly on landscapes, painted at the Oregon Coast for 18 years and continued painting Oregon scenes up to his death.  He lived and painted with is brother Arthur all of his life.
