Best known for his exquisite stone carvings of animals, Kee was an active Portland Painter and was well known as a WPA artist for his oils, watercolors, pastels and prints.  Born in Portland of Chinese ancestry, his early works reflected Portland’s large and dynamic Chinese community.  Through the Museum Art School and his connections with other WPA painters he developed his own “Oregon Style”, often reflecting nature.
